Fresh mixed juices and smoothies: Five places I go to get my fix

I’ve been meaning to buy a juicer for ages. I’ve even done the research and nailed it down to a couple that suit my needs. But every time I’m about to hit the purchase button I hesitate and ask myself: Will I really use it? And, I’m ashamed to say, the answer is no. To be honest, for now, at this busy point in my life and especially during the week when I’m doing the school run, I would rather grab and go and get my fix from a few places I have discovered that are thriving in the fresh mixed juice and smoothie game.

Wagamama: Not just a great place to grab some healthy and tasty grub – the chicken ramen is my favourite. Their juices are absolutely fantastic and I often crave the Positive one which is a combination of pineapple, lime, spinach, cucumber and apple so I make a weekly pitstop there just to grab a few juices for me and the boys while we’re on the go. Coffeehouse Tastehabitat: We popped into the Coffeehouse with some friends  and five kids in tow a few Sundays ago. I never expected to find a great juice/smoothie menu so imagine my excitement when I spied the menu that included juices with ginger, lemon, spinach, carrot, matcha and grapefruit. The Open Sesame smoothie with oats, tahini, cocoa, banana, honey and milk is next on my list of things to try. Tel: 22-767688

Get Fresh: One of my favourite and most frequently visited places. Seriously, you’ll find me and the boys at one of the two shops in Nicosia at least twice a week. I love the hot pot choices, the boys love the sandwiches. And we both love the juice options. The carrot juice with a good hit of ginger is my favourite. Tel: 22-437374

Green Foods Fresh&Bio by Etherio: If you’re vegetarian, vegan or paleo, you really should check this place out. There’s a huge range of organic dishes, they serve breakfast and lunch and you can find healthy homemade treats too. But their juice and smoothie menu is to die for and it includes fresh wheat grass! I absolutely love their Fill Me Up, Alkaline smoothie made up of almond milk, avocado, sunflower and chia seeds, peanut butter, coconut oil, spinach and kale. And I needn’t worry about skipping lunch when I grab one of these during the school run. Tel: 22-260101

Olives & Burgers: I popped into Olives & Burgers one day during a late school run and I am so glad I did. I was completely blown away by their menu that covers everything from salads to homemade burgers and a brilliant choice of vegan and vegetarian options. I can’t wait to take the boys and papa for lunch. As far as juices and smoothies, my favourite is their Green Warrior Smoothie – spinach, pineapple, banana and chia seeds but I’m definitely going back to try more from their menu. The above recommendations are all located in Nicosia, where I’m based, but thanks to a few lovely followers on Instagram I’ve managed to include some cool spots in other towns too.

Larnaca:  Jousia was recommended by a friend. I checked out their Facebook page and menu and it looks impressive. It’s located just off the Finikoudes main road so next time I’m in the area I know where I’m going for my fix.

Paphos: Antigo Juice and More looks promising. I wouldn’t mind trying the Detox juice. Their food menu consists of great healthy lunch and breakfast options.

Limassol: Nuovo cafe was mentioned as being a great place to grab a juice on the go if you’re in Limassol. The beetroot, green apple and ginger juice looks so good.
