Vienna

The first time we saw them live was at Rock Werchter in Brussels in 2012 and despite having an absolute blast with a mix of Lana Del Rey, The Gossip and most notably, Jack White, it dimly compared to the three-hour musical sensation we were lucky to experience this week. Just a few rows shy from the stage, we danced amongst a sea of 10,000 fans on the floor alone. My expectations were surpassed when they played my favourite song, which you can see on the YouTube link below.

With less than two days to see the city, we briefly caught Schonbrunn Palace and its beautiful gardens, Naschmarkt food market, St Stephen’s cathedral and a string of great cafes and restaurants. We also rented a flat through AirBnB, which I cannot recommend enough, especially if you’re on a budget. And who isn’t these days? Quiet and laid-back Vienna was a pleasant surprise and a city I would love to visit again with Georgie and papa.
