For the first time in over two years papa and I enjoyed a long weekend away, just the two of us, no kids. We flew to Brussels to go to one of the best rock music festivals in Europe, Rock Werchter.
Along with two of our closest friends, we boarded a flight to Brussels on Thursday afternoon and arrived in Belgium that evening. We rented a car and made our way to our AirBnB flat to get some rest and recharge our batteries for a two-day music festival experience, which was as awesome as it was draining. Too much walking, too much dancing, too many beers. But hey, I am NOT complaining. Not even about the weather which had me wearing two coats and a hoodie.
The line-up was incredible even if we did miss some of the main attractions like the Foo Fighters, Kings of Leon and Arcade Fire. It’s a four-day festival, from Thursday to Sunday and we could only make it on Friday and Saturday. On those days, playing live and making memories we will never forget were System of A Down, Linkin Park, Royal Blood, Birdy and above all Radiohead! You can see the full line-up here which also included one of my favourite new American Bands and their song Son of a Bitch! If you follow me on Instagram then you saw and heard all about our Rock Werchter experience.
On Sunday, which was our last day, we took a day trip to Bruges. I’ve been to Belgium so many times yet I have never made it to the little magical town that ended up taking my breath away. Or was that the beautiful little shops full of handmade chocolate in all shapes and sizes? Absolutely magical!
Check out the little piece I wrote about our first Rock Werchter experience from five years ago.
