Yay! It’s December 1 so I guess the kids can break open those advent calendars. I had my eye on a couple for Georgie and then yesterday I came across the most excellent advent DIY idea ever so I hurriedly gathered all the supplies and began making an advent village! I had the first 15 houses ready by this morning and plan on finishing up tonight. I just love looking it at especially with all those twinkling lights. I don’t think I’ll be filling them all just yet though because Georgie keeps peeking inside.
This isn’t a project you can complete in an hour but once you get the hang of it and see those cute little houses coming to life you won’t be able to stop. There’s no template to print out, just cut a rectangle, fold into quarters and then cut out the roof part in the second and fourth column. Then stick or glue. You can also choose if you want to attach the house to the roof. I didn’t due to time restraints.
For this advent village I followed the instructions from this post on A Beautiful Mess so check it out for more information if you want to make this quick and easy advent village. Otherwise the internet and of course Pinterest are jam-packed with ideas.
