When I worked as a feature writer for a newspaper, interviewing people was part of the job and I loved it. I found the task and liberty of asking people anything absolutely exhilarating. Every interview, I felt, opened my mind up to unchartered territories and new information despite experiencing my fair share of wonderfully weird and profoundly boring moments.
Nothing however compares to the interview I conducted yesterday. With Georgie. I got the idea from Pinterest when I came across something called The Birthday Interview. The idea is that every year you ask your child some basic questions and apart from a good old belly laugh, you get to save and treasure those adorable answers for years to come. There’s also another set of questions which will give you an interesting picture of how your child thinks and what they think of YOU. This is a fun exercise to do with your kids and you can also let them interview you! Enjoy!
I’ve combined the two sets of questions. Below are my favourites:
-How old is mummy?
Six.
-How tall is mummy?
As tall as my teepee.
-What is something mummy always says to you?
I love you and don’t go outside on your own.
-How does mummy make you laugh?
When she makes up her own language.
-If mummy was a cartoon character who would she be?
Tom from Tom and Jerry.
-What do you and mummy do together?
We read books, go places and bake.
-What is your favourite food?
Pancakes.
-What do you want to be when you grow up?
A dinosaur.
-How do you know mummy loves you?
Because I’m clever.
