On Sunday, Georgie looked slightly confused when papa and I announced we were all going to see some dinosaurs. ‘You told me they are all dead!’ Hm, yes, that’s right. So, I rephrased: ‘We’re going to see some dead dinosaurs’. The whole dinosaur concept is difficult to establish at this age but I am hoping the fascination will remain until he fully understands what type of remarkable beings used to roam the earth. Together with his cousins, we visited the Tsirides’ Foundation exhibit on dinosaurs, fossil fish and semi-precious stones. The exhibit actually included a complete skeleton of the extinct Cyprus pigmy hippopotamus and an authentic T-Rex skull!

I literally had to dust off my camera when I picked it up this Sunday. We were heading to a kids festival organised by Vagoni Agapis, a non-profit charity organisation for families in need. Such a great cause teamed with really good food and lovely weather (I hope some of you made it), making it a fantastic photo opportunity. Georgie and the other children dabbled in a number of activities including gardening and yoga. It was his first time striking the animal poses and he absolutely loved it. But his favourite part of the day had to be the sea of dead leaves he rolled around in to his heart’s content. Does this mean we can finally welcome autumn?
I’m back with more links on parenthood. Once the little ones are down for the night, you can read up on school lunch ideas, yoga poses for back pain, motherhood depression, having a third baby and an article a mother wrote about being naked in front of her kids.
To be or not to be naked in front of your little one? This is a topic I find myself discussing with other mothers of little boys on a regular basis.
This is a post I have been meaning to complete since I first started this blog. The number of changes a woman experiences after having a baby are endless. Some are hilarious, others downright depressing but all become subsequent changes of the type of love you cannot live without.
1. Face masks should never be applied unless you are certain your kids are fast asleep. Walking into their bedroom in the middle of the night to calm them from a nightmare with a face mask on can be a regretful experience.
Packing Georgie’s lunch box is, apparently, a thrilling task. I have so much fun with it (most times) and try to include exciting yet healthy options. Apart from the school’s ‘no nut policy’, which means peanut butter is out of the question (boohoo) I think the possibilities are endless. I set time aside in the evening to get as much as I can ready for the morning and always keep in mind that I am feeding a three-year old, so small portions and bite-sized pieces are key. I photographed some of the lunches and snacks I put together during Georgie’s first and second week. Let’s see how long this lasts! (ha!)
