2013 has brought determination in me. Wishful thinking was convincing me that we would be all moved in our new home by Christmas. When I realised that wasn’t going to happen, putting up the tree and decorating the house had a sour taste to it this Christmas. I had given up making the apartment a home and sort of put everything on hold. Today, I felt so disappointed in myself for fishing out bags of food pass it’s expiration date and tossing it all out. I am disorganised at times and I procrastinate more than I like to admit. That stopped as of yesterday. And I am determined to keep it up. Cleaning through the kitchen cabinets was a major step for me and it made me feel good. Just like spending more time making this blog something I am proud of will make me feel good. I hope to achieve alot this year in all areas of my life. For my husband, my baby and for me. But let’s not get ahead of ourselves. Setting simple, small goals is the secret. For now…a smoked salmon and cream cheese baguette is the beginning of bringing a healthy appetite into this home…wherever that may be.

How would you feel stepping into one of your favorite shops and being welcomed with 50% discount on everything? Yep. Today was a good day. My Shop on Ledra Street, I love you! I mean, 50 euros for that wall clock? Seriously? I also grabbed four gorgeous melamine Rice plates and a jam makers set, which I intend to use within the next few days. I hope. Oh, by the way check out my little dude’s new espradilles. 12 euros, Next Baby.
When the call came down the line that my bathroom and pantry handmade Italian floor tiles were here, I did my little dance and sang oh happy day! Aren’t they gorgeous? Hopefully by the end of next week they’ll be in place.
Yesterday my daddy turned 64. My mum said he came downstairs in the morning singing…will you still need me, will you still feed me when I’m 64! I hope to have that kind of attitude when I turn 40 let alone 64! Bravo papa! In other news, the ducks at my parents’ house where in need of some water after the lining in the pond tore, so the whole family decided to help. Georgie as usual insisted on holding the hose and checking the whole situation was under control. Erm, even the cat seemed interested???? Looks more like he wants that camera OUT OF HIS FACE! Twas a beautiful evening. Georgie loved being outdoors, as usual and my soon-to-be home is finally taking form. Makes me so excited about moving there… Plus I get to see this crazy bunch all the time!
Enjoying the cool breeze on our veranda, watching the world go by. Makes me realize I’m gonna miss this place when we move. So MANY MANY wonderful things have happened to me here. Major incidents. But it’s the little everyday happenings and details that have made up my life over the last six years. These girls take the same route everyday at the same time, chattering away. They make me smile. My I♥NY coffee mug from my first trip to the most utterly fascinating city i have visited. The cactuses have been there way before that. They were the first greens I brought into the apartment. SIX YEARS ago! I swear I’m even gonna miss our road. Thankfuly this part of my years lived in the apartment will be coming with. x
