Stress, worry and too many thoughts kept creeping up on me this week. It’s taken determination, meditation, a catch-up/gossip coffee session with my girls, lots of cooking and Billie Holiday on repeat and I think I’m ok and ready for the weekend. There’s something phenomenally soothing about cooking and listening to Billie.
Motherhood
I bet your feelings regarding screen time were the same as mine before you had kids. You were probably disgusted by those parents at the restaurant who would readily hand over tablets and mobile phones. When you went to your friend’s house who already had kids you would secretly cringe at the child seated in front of the telly.
It’s been a full week. Appointments, afternoon activities, a lively four year old and a papa who has been knee-high in Cyprus Rally preparations all week make me want to scream TGIF! Tonight I’m posting from bed, feet up. I’m watching Breaking Bad reruns and snacking on almonds covered in dark chocolate. Yep, I’m pretty happy right now.
Lately, Georgie’s been trying my patience. There are moments when it’s like I’m not even there, like my voice cannot be heard, like I have to do a silly dance or scream ‘F@£%’ at the top of my lungs. I actually haven’t tried that yet. Instead I thought I’d try a less crazy and more creative route.
Any exciting plans for the weekend? While I’m dreaming of travel and researching faraway places, Georgie seems content to spend the weekend on his pappou’s little farm, feeding the chickens and pigs.
