Got to love boot sales

Would you look at what I discovered at a little boot sale in Larnaca!I also stumbled upon some beautiful handmade greeting cards. I always make sure I have a collection at home for christenings, birthdays, weddings, etc. There’s nothing worse than stopping off at the periptero in your heels and pretty new dress scouring the shelves for impersonal cards, which by the way will probably be bought by hundreds of others too. Having a bunch of handmade ones that you can find in many shops adds creativity and thought. These cost one euro each and are made by Lynne and Susie.

Souxou Mouxou

The moment I laid eyes on the white and breezy Souxou Mouxou Mantalakia I wanted to tell the world. New life is being pumped back into the old part of Nicosia and this little restaurant is one of many making this possible. We sat down for a nice lunch which included a green salad with grilled cheese, little fried balls of goat’s cheese and feta, mushrooms with a filling and beef meatballs on a stick. We paid 40 euros, which might be a bit pricey for some but we enjoyed a lunch thoroughly. Can’t say the same for Georgie who barely touched my lentil and rice mixture. i have to mention the bag-cum-chair I found at Mothercare, a godsend when there are no highchairs or wooden ones which Georgie doesn’t like. All you do is open the bag- which is basically the booster seat with a soft cushion -and strap it around any chair. They won’t be level with the table but it’s the best solution I could find when he won’t spend another minute in his pram. Oh. And it also comes with a changing mat and a pocket or two.

Relaxing, playing…

I have a friend who lives in the beautiful village of Agia Anna. It’s smack bang in the middle of Nicosia and Larnaca but tucked away among  mountains. Every single house in the village has a specific strong feature: stone. With wooden beams above the windows and cute rooftops I truly find it a relaxing and inspirational place to be.
