Whenever I hear other mummies talking about how they take their babies to concerts or restaurants or visiting after 7 in the evening I get bothered. I literally feel a sadness in the pit of my stomach. Of course it’s all down to jealousy because I simply can’t even imagine messing with Georgie’s routine. New Year Eve is coming up and I am already ultra-stressed about how to deal with it. I have turned down many invitations simply because I fear Georgie won’t enjoy himself. OK I’m lying; it’s because i won’t enjoy myself. “What if you let him nap late in the afternoon?” they ask. Well that MIGHT work if he could actually nap late in the afternoon. My obsession with not letting him nap when he should be awake means that he’ll be active and happy throughout the entire afternoon, playing around with his daddy’s belt and the dog’s toys, but come 6:30, he needs his bath and sleep. In his bed with his music and sleeping bag.
Motherhood
…I bought these slipper-boots… or is it boot-slippers???
…picked up these cute Christmas pegs from Jumbo…not sure what to do with them to be honest…
…watched while Georgie danced on his daddy…
…and finally took a picture of my favorite corner now complete with slightly overdecorated Christmas tree. What?I can’t help myself!
Let the drinking, eating and shopping commence! xxx
Georgie is now well into the solid phase and doing quite well. Seeing as he wasn’t sleeping very well at 5 months our pediatrician gave us the OK to start solids. He was exclusively breastfed up until then as he wouldn’t accept formula so we gave fruit jar food and powders a go. By six months he was sleeping through the night- something I never thought would happen! Now he loves porridge with bananas and apples, can’t get enough of anything with cheese sauce and goes all starry-eye when I offer him toast and jam. As a first-time mama, naturally I am a little paranoid about choking so everything he eats is finely chopped or mashed.
We spent a lovely weekend in Nicosia stopping by the Women’s Market and then enjoying a spot of lunch at Chronoperpatimata, which by the way is an absolute must if you’re looking for mezedes.
