It’s finally cold enough out there to snuggle up indoors once the sun goes down. In our home, the little ones are in bed by 6.30 while Georgie, who is almost 8 years old, gets to stay up an hour more. During that time I get dinner ready while he reads a book to me or completes one of these little worksheets we recently received. You can give this one a go with your older kids if you like because it’s free to download and print.
let’s play
It’s been just over a year since Georgie learnt how to read. And I am still absolutely gobsmacked everytime I hear him. I feel so proud. Do you know the feeling? It’s so amazing. Along with his reading we’ve started playing around with activities like word searches, crossword puzzles and word scrambles. If your child is at the stage in life you may want to check out these great worksheets I recently received that will keep them busy this season.
I’m not really feeling the Halloween vibe THAT much this year to go all out and buy/make Georgie a costume. Let’s blame it on pregnancy hormones shall we? But he will be attending a couple of parties so I have to do something. Enter the best last minute face painting ideas I could find. And they’re super easy too!
When I first saw what was in the little package we had received for James, I laughed. As if, I thought to myself, there was the slightest chance my rascal of a 14-month old would hold a cup with water AND drink from it nonetheless. Well, let me tell you, I love it when I’m totally and completely wrong about something!
Every year towards the end of August, I feel the dire need to organise, to sort myself out, mentally and physically. You see, September is my January. That time of year when I make some much-needed life adjustments/resolutions that simply work wonders for a highly-stressful individual such as myself who thrives on a rigid and specific routine. This year I’m thinking of implementing an afternoon one for Georgie. What do you think? Do your kids have after-school schedules?
