style to the kids

I like my boy in t-shirts and sneakers. I love him in cut off jeans and I cannot resist a superhero t-shirt. I am pro-tomboy all the way. It’s hard to understand why I ever worried about dressing a boy. It is an absolute uncomplicated joy. Yet sometimes I catch myself walking straight into a heap of tutus and frilly bows and smiling. I am drawn to the cuteness of a little white dress, an embroidered flower and fine fabrics. This does not happen often but when it does it’s usually worth mentioning, so if you have a little girl who you just love dressing up, take yourself down to Marasil. There are stores in Limassol, Paphos and Nicosia. They stock truly gorgeous dresses in lovely fabrics and a number of christening options without the tulle overload. Basic, everyday clothes in breathable materials are available here. Everything is made in Europe, which I appreciate and there’s a cool boys collection too with the coolest croc swim trunks I’m thinking of grabbing.

For the love of skin

I don’t know if it’s the eery sound of age creeping up on me or the realisation that some things (thighs, I’m talking to you) will never change but I am finally tuning into my skin and all its needs. Those monthly breakouts are yet to be tamed, I won’t lie, but overall my skin is in a much better state than it would have been if I continued to turn a snobbish nose to the sacred valley of beauty and skincare products. Wiping off make up and applying the occasional mask was about all I could muster when it came to caring for my skin. Probably the only thing I can say I did right by my skin is religiously applying sun protection for the last five years. You don’t want to hear about my ignorant youthful and bountiful use of baby oil because that’s just disgusting and I would really rather forget about it.

Liked – sneakers

Since I started taking regular Pilates classes and threw a core workout into the mix once a week, those wobbly parts on my body are getting smaller. Fitting into clothes I like and pulling outfits together that make me feel good is a great feeling that brings on all sorts of excitements, especially for someone who put an uncomfortable amount of weight during her pregnancy (still not comfortable with sharing the actual number with the whole world). But no matter how many inches I lose, one thing is absolute: for me, comfort always comes first; casual, second. That trainers and sneakers are making their way into everyday outfits that are stylish, approachable and above all comfortable, is total inspiration for this happy mummy.
