Georgie and I are looking forward to setting up a stall at the Children’s Flea Market this Sunday at the To Xani Christmas Market at The Cookery School in Paramytha, Limassol. We spent a good portion of the weekend rounding up all the ‘stuff’ the boys no longer need including toys and clothes and we couldn’t be happier knowing that it is all going towards a great cause. We would love to see you there!
In support of the Kofinou Refugee Appeal, Mums in Cyprus and the Polemidia Conversation Club are hosting this wonderful event where children have been invited to sell their preloved toys, books and clothes. They will be donating a percentage of their earnings towards buying food and toiletry items for the families living at the Kofinou Refugee Camp.
Georgie is swooning over the idea of playing shopkeeper on the day but he’s also excited to do his bit for the kids who are less fortunate than him. We talk about this alot as it’s something that seems to spark his curiosity every time we mention we are doing our part for those who aren’t as lucky as we are. Especially when we go through a decluttering phase and he has to understand why certain toys have to be given away. I know it can be tough for little minds like his to grasp the concept but that was one of the reasons I immediately said ‘yes’ when Mums In Cyprus contacted me about setting up a table at the flea market. It will be good for his inquisitive mind to go through the process of parting with his things for a good cause, going on to sell them and earn some money.
So please come and say hi next Sunday, find some great bargains and enjoy the many festivities taking place at the Christmas market.
If you can make it out to donate please bring items such as baby supplies, baby equipment, toiletries and women’s sanitary items -which they desperately need -and dry food. Children’s and adult clothes and pillows, duvets and blankets are needed too but they must be in good condition. We all have a bag of unwanted clothes, household items, books and other stuff hanging around in our garage or cupboards so pull it out guys and bring it with you on Sunday.
