Every outfit needs some accessories to really tie everything together. Choosing your accessories can be tough, but my advice is to settle on an underlying theme. As you can tell by the title, this post will look at adding birthstones to your outfits as accessories. I love birthstones as they are symbolic and special to each person. So, here are some ways you can wear yours to complement the rest of your outfit.
Rings
Rings are a very subtle way to add something extra to an outfit. I love rings as you can have quite a few on your fingers at once. So, a birthstone ring can be used alongside other rings. Of course, all birthstones are gorgeous in their own way. However, I’m particularly jealous of people born in October as opal rings are very beautiful. Pearl rings also look very good, so all of the June babies out there are lucky as well. But, if you were born in April, then you pretty much cashed out on all the luck. Your birthstone is diamond, and you can’t go wrong with a lovely diamond ring on your finger!
Bangles
Bangles are slightly more ‘out there’ in terms of accessories. They’re more noticeable and can make more of a statement than rings. For me, they’re best worn with short-sleeved tops as you can properly show them off to the world. I love bangles as they come in so many different varieties and all birthstones shine bright in them. Again, if I had to single out a couple of stones that perhaps look best, then I’d go for aquamarine and turquoise. These are the birthstones for March and December respectively. Necklaces
Lastly, we have necklaces. Now, if rings are subtle and bangles are more prominent, then necklaces are a combination of the two. It all depends on the style you choose. There are some necklaces that instantly turn heads and catch your attention. Then, you have others that are smaller and more subtle. So, it depends on what type of accessory you’re hoping for. I honestly think all the birthstones work well in necklaces. That sounds like a cop-out answer, but it’s the truth. There’s something about the way a gemstone can sit in a necklace that makes it perfect no matter what. I also love the symbolic nature of a necklace laying over your heart. That sounds pretty deep, but I enjoy the stone of your birth being close to your heart – it just makes it seem more special.
Here’s the thing, you can choose any one of these ideas and add it to your outfit. Or, you could use all three at the same time, or even a combination of two. It’s genuinely up to you!
