It’s been all around these last few days. My daddy, as you can see, has arrived home safe and sound. Seeing him here, spotting him walking Bear, his new dog, and watching him enjoy a homemade Sunday lunch with all the people who have been so good to him over the month makes me want to thank each and every one of them and say a big I Love You!
To my mum, who has shown the type of courage and braveness only a strong woman such as her can display. She is my idol.
To my uncles in London, who have stood by my parents’ side and accompanied my dad to all his appointments. They have nursed him and taken after him, like family should.
To my sister, who hadn’t seen her daddy in a month. She works, she has three kids and fought her way through a sad period with a smile on her face.
To all my dear friends, who have stood by me and held my hand, making me strong. They brought a calm vibe into my life.
To my mother-in-law,who made possible my two trips to London for my dad. She looked after my baby just like I knew she would, making those weeks away from him a little easier.
To my father-in-law, who works for hours everyday including weekends to complete our new home. The man has made things happen so quickly, I couldn’t help but get a little emotional when he was taking the plastic wrapping off my new kitchen counters. Now that dad’s back, we can focus on finally moving in, being near my family and beginning a new adventure. I thank my father-in-law for that, from the bottom of my heart.
And finally to papa, who has been nothing short of perfect during these times. He has given me support and a shoulder to cry on-literally. Hard times are a tester. But during these times, I was reminded how my head rests perfectly against his chest, how my hand fits perfectly into his, how handsome he looks with a baby in his arms -and without!- and how, even though we are both far from perfect, it FEELS perfect. Guess that’s love?
