yet another sleep post…sorry.

Well i’m not sorry actually because only if you’ve experienced the real meaning of ‘going crazy’  will you understand my obsession. It’s a healthy one and it ensures my child sleeps, gets his rest, recharges his batteries, relaxes his busy brain and basically just chills! this means that i am one of those mothers who uses a prop to help my baby sleep. after reading a truckload of books on the matter, all of which specifically point out the importance of falling asleep without aid, i beg to differ. it’s playtime!

The weather is finally warming up which means i get to enjoy my little dude at the park. It’s a shame there aren’t as many here in Cyprus or Nicosia as there are in other European countries but the one we found today was just perfect. i grabbed a couple of sandwiches- egg and mayo and tuna and mayo- from Get Fresh along with freshly squeezed orange juice and headed out for a nice day among the trees and the dirt, which Georgie was particularly fond of. Seriously! He didn’t even look at the slides and swings for the first 15 minutes. All he wanted to do was roll around in the dirt and eat stones.  READ MORE

After watching Jamie Oliver’s 30 minute meals show i decided i should cook more! The truth is I really enjoy cooking especially if it’s something that requires lots of different spices, fresh organic produce and some good wine but I make excuses more often than I tend to admit. I remind myself how much satisfaction I get from serving a dish with pipping hot homemade food and this past few week I’ve managed to cook three times in a row! Yesterday I cheated and made a pasta dish but it was baked and with tuna! oh! but the best part? the heart-shaped pasta! READ MORE

Happy Birthday Georgie!

There is a point in everybody’s life when things change. Life changes. There is a single point when a switch just goes off and you are thrown. This is exactly what I felt like the very next morning Georgie was born. Looking at him I freaked out. Reality hit me hard. I was knackered, mourning the loss of my ab muscles and being helped by a stranger – nurse- into the shower and then into my knickers. But amidst the sore nipples and already sleepless nights I marveled. I marveled at something. Up until that moment I had never experienced such an overwhelming urge of intense feelings for anything. The Alps were impressive and going to New York Fashion Week was beyond real but looking down on this picture of perfection I was gone. READ MORE
