Plant pot spray painting

We’ve had one of those big ceramic pots on our veranda for over two years now. Inside is a climbing plant – not sure which kind- that quickly managed to cling onto the wall next to it. So when we decided to spray-paint the pot, we knew we wouldn’t be easy. Turns out it wasn’t that hard at all mainly because we had one of those spray paint handle grips. What a life changer. I have always loved spray painting stuff. Frames, pots, glass jars, ornaments and light fixtures. So I know a good spray paint brand when I see one. Enter Pinty Plus. Oh and they have little ones too. You know, for little hands.

As soon as I noticed small aerosol cans containing non-toxic, water-based paint, I wanted Georgie to try them out.

He’s already thinking about all the stuff he can spray paint. We’ve made a list.

This water-based spray paint was first launched in Europe by Pinty Plus. Now they have another three ranges based on this future technology, free of aggressive solvents or harmful to the environment.

So what is Pinty Plus? It’s a Spanish brand of spray paints now available in Cyprus and I got to try them. Easy to hold and use, quick to dry, they leave a perfect finish and come in a range of 100 different stunning colours. I’me telling you, this is a truly brilliant and innovative collection of spray paints.

They even have rose gold! You can watch a great video here with ideas on how to use it. Beauty jars and trays, oh my.

The chalk collection is to die for with varnishes and primers available to ensure that whatever job you chose to do, it gets done and the colour lasts. Speaking of colors, I absolutely love the pastel shades of pink, blue and green. They would look fantastic on a  small collection of frames with different styles.

My man set up a little handmade cardboard box around the pot we wanted to spray-paint, he clicked the spray gun onto the aerosol can and let rip. Ha! The whole thing took us just under an hour, the pot is a large one but we loved seeing the immediate and beautiful result. We liked the rose gold effect too that was created with just a few short strokes of this gold aerosol so we left it with one coat. Pretty impressive.

I wanted this big boy, which I raised from a tiny three-euro kind of cactus to this, to stand proudly and boldly. So I saved the pink/magenta colour for him. By the way, the colour you see in the photo is just one coat of paint on untreated wood. I am still considering a second one because I genuinely love the way it turned out.

Spray painting is a quick and easy way to jazz up almost anything. The internet is full of ideas so let rip and go crazy.
