I would wither away and die if I didn’t have access to creativity. You could say that’s just me. But I know for a fact that expressing yourself through creative activities can be soul-nourishing and that’s why I encourage my kids to allow their creative juices to flow any way they feel. Art workshops are a brilliant way to do that and last week the boys were lucky enough to try one out at ElenART Studio in Nicosia.

We’ve had one of those big ceramic pots on our veranda for over two years now. Inside is a climbing plant – not sure which kind- that quickly managed to cling onto the wall next to it. So when we decided to spray-paint the pot, we knew we wouldn’t be easy. Turns out it wasn’t that hard at all mainly because we had one of those spray paint handle grips. What a life changer. I have always loved spray painting stuff. Frames, pots, glass jars, ornaments and light fixtures. So I know a good spray paint brand when I see one. Enter Pinty Plus. Oh and they have little ones too. You know, for little hands.
James’ nursery is slowly coming together. Very slowly. I’m still waiting on a few things to arrive and of course there’s the matter of actually putting James IN his bedroom (yes, he still sleeps in his cot in our room). One thing I’m on the hunt for is beautiful illustrations for the walls. I came across Carson Ellis’ work and fell in love.
The Birdhouse is exactly the type of place I had in mind when I mentioned how much I want to promote small local shops and businesses. Especially this Christmas. This place is brimming with gorgeous creations all handmade with love and care by very talented individuals and I am so excited to tell you about it.
Displaying Georgie’s art has been on my list of things-to-do for an embarrassingly long time. I have a folder where I keep not only Georgie’s musings but also my godson’s and niece and nephew’s. But there’s always one favourite hanging on the side of the fridge or sitting clumsily on the blackboard in the pantry. So it was about time I got some wire, two nails and a few pegs and created a little art corner.
