So I turned 31. I’ve been telling people it’s just number because that is truly how I feel. I can’t say that my age defines who I am or how I live my life because it doesn’t. If anything, being a mummy and having a birthday is far more terrifying than getting older. You wake up expecting, if only for a second, that there won’t be any washing up to do, laundry to be folded or even a toddler who wakes you up at 6.30 but alas you realize that birthday mummies still continue to be just that: mummies. I did spend the day with my mum, sister and the kids as well as papa’s side of the family but the highlight of my day was having dinner with my boys at the Hard Rock Cafe- which just opened in Nicosia. Hey! We’re getting there slowly but steadily… We opted for the early bird special so we were leaving the joint before nine! How embarrassing! But I’m sure all you mothers understand the issue with keeping a toddler up wayyyyy pass his bedtime. To be honest, my little dude was actually quite well-behaved. He wanted out of the highchair as soon as he was strapped in and ended up eating garlic bread instead of a bowl of mac and cheese which I desperately ignored for an hour but once he was out, all he wanted to do was enjoy the view from the glass balcony of the second floor. I even got to eat! Georgie’s grandparents volunteered to watch him for the night so papa and I could enjoy some alone time but I refused. What kind of birthday dinner would it be without my darling little family. I love you guys….maybe papa a bit more because he did source out yellow tulips you know!

The first child who stole my heart, my beautiful and fascinating godson turns five this week. We threw him a pirate-themed birthday party last night- or should i say, my sister threw him one because she literally did everything. From the face painting to the flags and even the treasure chest cake, she pulled off a really great party. Makes me so excited about all the birthdays I will get to celebrate with my little dude. Happy Birthday Angelo. Love nouna.x
Ever since purchasing my first laptop in a VERY long time, I’ve become a tad obsessed with the internet. Actually, ever since I started this blog I’ve become obsessed. I can’t get enough of gorgeously designed blogs, crazy ideas on photography and food and the large community of mummy bloggers there is out there. It really is becoming an integral part of our generation, blogging I mean. Call it what you want but it is opening my eyes more and more each day. Here are bits and bobs I found interesting over this past week. Have a look.
Hope you’re all relaxed and rejuvenated and above all ready for another stupendously hot week. xxx
Yesterday my daddy turned 64. My mum said he came downstairs in the morning singing…will you still need me, will you still feed me when I’m 64! I hope to have that kind of attitude when I turn 40 let alone 64! Bravo papa! In other news, the ducks at my parents’ house where in need of some water after the lining in the pond tore, so the whole family decided to help. Georgie as usual insisted on holding the hose and checking the whole situation was under control. Erm, even the cat seemed interested???? Looks more like he wants that camera OUT OF HIS FACE! Twas a beautiful evening. Georgie loved being outdoors, as usual and my soon-to-be home is finally taking form. Makes me so excited about moving there… Plus I get to see this crazy bunch all the time!
