masks and games

Making masks was nowhere near as much fun as hide and seek was today. We’ve only just started playing with Georgie and it’s got all three of us in fits! Georgie hides in front of the bedroom door, papa throws a sheet over him and then boo! Love these guys.

this face

Through a ring of chaos and stress this past week, this face has managed to keep me smiling, singing and steaming with determination. Anyone who has a happy toddler in their lives, knows what I am talking about. I could’ve easily chosen to spend my evenings in front of the telly, avoid blogging and order take out because that is exactly what I felt like doing. Instead I made lasagna for the first time and finally managed to pull together a little video, which is something I have wanted to do for a very long time. It’s not just about keeping busy and avoiding ill thoughts. It’s about doing something I am proud of and besides this face, I am proud of so much more. Even a plate of lasagna.

two little birds

[vimeo clip_id= http://www.vimeo.com/57091005 w=500&h=281] Since my mum is away, I’ve taken on a double duty watching my sister’s little one, Achilleas, while she’s at work. Just 23 days older than Georgie and with a mighty temper, I woke up at 6.30 on Monday morning to welcome A expecting the worse. But bloody hell, how wrong was I! Give them paints and you can bake a big batch of chocolate chip cookies with minimal intervention as well as check your e-mails. I loved spending time with them, watching them  interact, becoming mini men.

conversations

I was washing the dishes when I heard Georgie saying ‘ello’ back to the TV and then repeating the word ‘apple’. My little dude is growing. Fast. He mumbles all sorts and is building a vocabulary all his own. I really cannot wrap my head around the fact that soon we will be having conversations and he’ll be blowing my mind with the kind of childish fantasy I crave in life. He says the word ‘ne’ – Greek for yes- in a number of voices and tones depending on the question. He can name both grandmothers. He calls his auntie Soula ‘Sasa’ and screams ‘BAAAA’ every time a bus goes by.

broom! broom!

I asked Georgie what he wanted for Christmas a month ago and up until the day, the answer was always: Tachter! He has a slight obsession with this farming vehicle no doubt brought on by his grandfather’s mini digger and his dad’s race car and their own obsessions with four-wheeled goodies. A week ago he even said ‘ellow’ as in yellow! A yellow and green super monster tractor was just what he got from his grandparents who probably didn’t consider their daughter-in-law would take on the role of chauffeur! I laughed my head off and can’t wait to move into our gorgeous home equipped with a big garden for tractor racing!
