You have no idea how insanely hot it is right now. The veranda tiles were so scorching hot today I couldn’t even step out without some sort of protection. I worry about my arm, being exposed when I’m driving. I worry about my face turning into a sack of wrinkles. I worry about the wobbly parts on my body. I worry about not eating enough fruit. But you know what? When I’m outdoors with my baby running around, exploring and taking it all in, I don’t worry. It’s like I’m seeing the world as a brand new place. The park? Wow! So many trees, so many birds!!! The beach? wOW! Water!

Both my boys doing what they know best. x
Georgie is finally at that stage where a night out won’t mess with his routine or my patience. I always make sure he’s had a good nap in the afternoon, possibly later than usual, and that our destination is somewhat kid-friendly. We decided to grab an early dinner last night at a gorgeous little taverna in Aglantzia, Nicosia. Georgie fed the cats souvlaki and spent half the evening staring up at the beautiful lights. He’s almost 17 months now and becoming such a character. But above all, he’s a happy baby. People notice that at once when they meet him and although I’m not too keen on him walking up to complete strangers, I am very proud my baby is growing up with a smile on his face.
Yesterday my daddy turned 64. My mum said he came downstairs in the morning singing…will you still need me, will you still feed me when I’m 64! I hope to have that kind of attitude when I turn 40 let alone 64! Bravo papa! In other news, the ducks at my parents’ house where in need of some water after the lining in the pond tore, so the whole family decided to help. Georgie as usual insisted on holding the hose and checking the whole situation was under control. Erm, even the cat seemed interested???? Looks more like he wants that camera OUT OF HIS FACE! Twas a beautiful evening. Georgie loved being outdoors, as usual and my soon-to-be home is finally taking form. Makes me so excited about moving there… Plus I get to see this crazy bunch all the time!
I’ve become a huge fan of Instagram. I might be a bit ‘late’ discovering this amazing app but better late than never, right? With the help of special filters you can upload beautiful pictures, very 70s and very cool, for everyone to admire and take inspiration from. I picked up this rocking babygro at the Werchter Festival and found it complimented my Smurf-coloured toenails, perfectly. I would like to say: Look at my beautiful new maxi dress but I fear Tano and his new ‘haircut’ have stolen my thunder. Papa was supposed to drop him off before we left on our trip, for a shampoo and blowdry. Georgie’s godfather, who was kind enough to take Tano in while we were away, called me that night to tell me that he was convinced the girl at the pet store place gave him the wrong dog. He sent me a picture and papa got an earful. But if I’m being honest, i quite like it. No more long thick dog hairs and he seems happier and lighter. Sushi delivery! It was a Friday ritual for months before Georgie was born and unfortunately it was never picked up again. Until this Friday when it was sushi and movies all the way. Vintage-inspired postcards from Amsterdam. An extract from John Holt’s Learning All The Time, an eye-opening book on how children learn by themselves how to read and write. I haven’t finished it yet. A few months ago I discovered Goodbyn, a cute tupperware style lunch bag. So far I’ve taken it to the beach and the park, many times. Basically it’s perfect for snacks and a light lunch. I’m hoping it will come in handy when Georgie needs one for pre-school.
