The annual Flood Festival was celebrated this weekend. I’m not sure exactly why we celebrate it with festivals, truckloads of food and drink …oh and by throwing water at people or chilling on the beach but the whole point is to just get wet…which consequently means that this weekend, Georgie was UNSTOPPABLE! On Saturday S and G’s godfather joined us for a trip to the beach. Having those extra hands was heaven for me! thanks guys! The festival is set up along the beachfront selling all sorts of goodies from food to antiques! Seeing as the flood festival entails a three-day weekend and more getting wet, we spent the afternoon doing exactly that…only this time. it was war!

After seeing the house today and the freshly painted outside walls I decided I am excited enough to show you a few sneak peeks. This is the view from the living room… View from the opposite side – back into the living room. Thought I should give you a good idea about how high our ceilings are! It was one of the few things I was 100% sure I wanted to see everyday. Then, we have a sample of the brickwork for decorating outside…and inside! And it just keeps getting better…x
Georgie has a lot of love surrounding him. His grandfather, who he is also named after, is one of the most important people in his life. He had been meaning to buy a little house for Georgie to play in when he stays over but eventually decided to make one out of cardboard! It’s so cute and even has a chimney and a door handle! you can tell how much the little dude loved it.Have a happy happy weekend!xxx
It was a rainy but warm day. The rain actually helped calm my nerves because as the moment moved closer i realized nothing could prepare me for that dreaded walk down the aisle. I’ve always been one to avoid too much attention and religion has never been ‘my thing’ so nothing but the man standing at the end of that long path could make it worthwhile. My wedding day was nothing like I had envisioned. As much as I tried to relax and enjoy myself, the people, the fuss and the ‘traditions’, i felt, got in my way. To be honest, I could’ve done without the whole hoohah but some things are meant to be done a certain way and throwing a big party for all your friends and family is actually really fun! the next morning, it hit me. I was married… And it didn’t scare me anymore. In fact it made me so damn proud. i was excited! i had spent seven beautiful and intense years with this man and now couldn’t wait to see what the future had in store. three years later, my marriage is like a cocoon. it’s warm, cosy and safe. there’s a special bond behind the arguing, the disagreements and the hard times life throws at us. It’s weird. It’s love. And I like it.
Georgie skipped his morning nap so the afternoon one came earlier than usual. By 2.30 he was up and with nothing planned, I decided to take him to the beach. His little screams and bursts of running make me know that he will just love it this summer. All that running around and the cool breeze from the sea made me crave…a waffle. So i treated myself and Georgie to one with whipped cream and chocolate ice cream and a cup of tea to wash it all down.
