The kids are back at school so I’m assuming, like me, you are faced with a landslide of forms to fill in and various belongings that need name tags. Ever since Georgie started preschool over four years ago I have been using a number of ways to keep track of his lunchbox and water bottle and school bag, all of which have disappointed me. So when I discovered Unicorns and Superheroes who specialise in kiddie stationery and name tag WATERPROOF stickers I knew I could now relax.
Cyprus
A few months ago, during a usual busy evening with the exception of being heavily pregnant, I was huffing and puffing, folding clothes, picking up toy cars up off the floor and rushing to get dinner ready when I heard Georgie talking in his room. Loudly. It was 8.30 and he was supposed to be in bed. Manically, I made my way up the stairs, fired up to give him a scolding. But then I stopped. As I came closer to his bedroom door I realised he wasn’t talking. He was reading.
James’ christening day! It was an absolutely gorgeous day filled with love and laughter, But I’m glad it’s over. Big events tend to stress me out especially when I’m the one organising them. But the day unfolded beautifully and was made possible by a big group of people I would like to thank.
On Saturday I dragged my growing belly to the Birth Forward seminar because no matter how much I wanted to put my feet up and take advantage of the fact that Georgie was spending the afternoon with his dad, I really wanted to see what this little community was doing for pregnant ladies in Cyprus.
I, along with many, are disgusted by the fact that we -Cyprus- have the highest rate of Caesarean Sections in Europe. It’s 52%, in case you were wondering, so you could say it was about time someone stood up and questioned this alarming fact.
On Saturday papa and I dropped Georgie off at my in-laws and made our way to Limassol. We were in town for an event where papa was awarded a massive trophy for winning the Time Attack championship in car racing. So proud of him!
Seeing as this was a one-night vacation and we only had a few hours to ourselves we did what all parents on their own would do. We walked hand-in-hand along the beachfront, stayed up late and slept in. Obviously. We also grabbed some great grub at the Limassol Marina and put our feet up at the Londa Hotel, which was heaven.
