Ah, the eating chapter. There are days when it tires me to my core. James is a completely unpredictable and fussy eater. One day he wants to feed himself the next day he screams bloody murder when I put a slice of avocado in front of him. He’s also slim for his age but of course that’s because he’s too busy burning off whatever he does actually eat. So I’ve had to do some homework and find tasty treats and combinations that he likes. Here’s what’s working with James lately.
dinner
I have finally conquered my fear of anything that involves yeast and have made my first bread. I can’t tell you how shocked I was to discover it looked good and tasted heavenly. Georgie and I devoured half of it before papa came home and we had more for dinner along with Camembert cheese.
This is the perfect bread to make if you’re short on time or a beginner. Nothing but
A month ago, while we were decorating our Christmas tree, Georgie asked for pancakes for dinner. So, I dropped what I was doing and headed to the kitchen with him to whip up a batch. Georgie stood on his little stool and waited for me to gather all the ingredients. He then helped me scoop out the exact measurements with that cute toddler steadiness and then he cracked open two eggs with one hand. We began mixing away when my mother-in-law began laughing. She couldn’t believe how well Georgie was handling himself and the whole process. He is indeed a great sous chef and I could not be prouder. I smile when he starts cleaning and cups his hand under the kitchen counter to catch those crumbs.
Hope you’re all relaxed and rejuvenated and above all ready for another stupendously hot week. xxx
Georgie is finally at that stage where a night out won’t mess with his routine or my patience. I always make sure he’s had a good nap in the afternoon, possibly later than usual, and that our destination is somewhat kid-friendly. We decided to grab an early dinner last night at a gorgeous little taverna in Aglantzia, Nicosia. Georgie fed the cats souvlaki and spent half the evening staring up at the beautiful lights. He’s almost 17 months now and becoming such a character. But above all, he’s a happy baby. People notice that at once when they meet him and although I’m not too keen on him walking up to complete strangers, I am very proud my baby is growing up with a smile on his face.
