Since I started taking regular Pilates classes and threw a core workout into the mix once a week, those wobbly parts on my body are getting smaller. Fitting into clothes I like and pulling outfits together that make me feel good is a great feeling that brings on all sorts of excitements, especially for someone who put an uncomfortable amount of weight during her pregnancy (still not comfortable with sharing the actual number with the whole world). But no matter how many inches I lose, one thing is absolute: for me, comfort always comes first; casual, second. That trainers and sneakers are making their way into everyday outfits that are stylish, approachable and above all comfortable, is total inspiration for this happy mummy.

This post was supposed to be about my love for thrift shops and second-hand goods but today was the type of day that leaves me with enough energy to make homemade bolognese and watch a movie. Why? Well, our morning started off with Georgie spilling ground cinnamon EVERYWHERE. I was making scrambled eggs at the time, which he refused to eat. I then had to rush out and hunt for a table for our new home because a certain well-known furniture store could not give us a delivery date for the table we wanted and gave a deposit on SIX MONTHS ago! Don’t even get me started on manners and customer service. Last but not least, Georgie did not nap today. Mums will know what this means. After an hour of lying in bed with him, he promptly got up, shook his head as if to say ‘no’ and then began jumping up and down.
This mask was one of two presents I gave Georgie after returning from London. The first, a vintage Fisher Price wind-up TV, is sitting safely on a shelf. The second, this lion mask I picked up from a One Pound Shop outside of London, is hands-down one of his favourite things to play with. He happily posed in it for a few seconds before I had to promptly put down the camera and pretend to be a lion. As you do.
I’ve been toying with the idea of doing a couple of posts a week on Georgie’s outfits. Mind-blowing stuff, I know but there are times when my little dude looks so freaking cute in jeans and t-shirts and converse sneakers, I need to tell the world! Georgie has mostly new clothes bought at an intense rate by yours truly. I can’t help myself. And to think i was worried at 4 months pregnant as to how the hell I was going to dress a boy. But I’m loving it. Wouldn’t change it for the world.
