Every afternoon- somewhere between dinner and Tom and Jerry- Georgie brings me one of his books and sits down on my lap for a read. I didn’t plan on teaching him this but i am very grateful it is something he loves to do. We are creating quite a little collection of cute books-some very baby ones and others I will save later for him- but my absolute favorite has to be Who’s Like Me? If your child loves animals – and what child doesn’t?- they will love this gorgeous colorful book with flaps to lift and learn about snakes and foxes. Also another aspect i love about this book- it has snakes and amphibians! Granted it may be for preschoolers and somewhat scientific but nothing can beat those beautiful retro illustrations.

Georgie skipped his morning nap so the afternoon one came earlier than usual. By 2.30 he was up and with nothing planned, I decided to take him to the beach. His little screams and bursts of running make me know that he will just love it this summer. All that running around and the cool breeze from the sea made me crave…a waffle. So i treated myself and Georgie to one with whipped cream and chocolate ice cream and a cup of tea to wash it all down.
This is what we had for lunch today! I wish I could say papa fought a vicious battle to bring this 5 kilo fish home but the truth is we bought it from a fisherman and decided to take to my sister’s house for a big lunch with the familia. Not quite sure what type of fish it is but it tasted AMAZING as you can imagine! It took two and a half hours to cook it to perfection so Georgie, my mum and dad and I took a walk down to the farm. Georgie’s been doing this funny thing where he mimics Tano by growling, eating food off the floor and chewing toys so it was only natural he would mimic the other animals too!
…Georgie and I chilled. We had strawberries and weetabix for breakfast……went to the mall for a milkshake and some book browsing… (ended up buying wrapping paper and a DVD)……took a quick trip to the park for some ice cream……and we then ended the day getting dirty, feeding Tano and using our new chalk on the veranda wall. I picked up this natural and above all washable chalk from Tigadoo, one of the only-if not the only- eco-friendly kids’ stores in Nicosia. Such a great variety of wooden toys, clothes and hygiene products. Love that place!Moments like these make me wish I could feckin draw! But I can’t so poor Georgie will have to do with a orange-lemon tree. Hope you have a lovely weekend!xxx
what’s that in Georgie’s hand? It’s a chicken bone! I find they are great for babies to suck on or even use as a spoon!of course you should make sure the bone is big enough and that your child can’t bite the edges off. I also don’t even think i should mention that you never leave your child unattended while eating. I boiled some chicken last night and teamed it with some spaghetti -real comfort food. Georgie had some for lunch today mixed with yoghurt. Later on, he threw a fit when he spotted the fresh strawberries I picked up at the market. i couldn’t cut them up and get them in the net thingy fast enough. Can’t complain though. My baby’s a healthy eater and I am very happy! Poor Tano had to watch from afar because Georgie kept ‘offering’ him some. So cute!
