The other day a family friend looked at my bump and said the nicest thing: Wow! Such a cute little belly. You look great! I was caught off-guard because usually people are quick to note that I look huge but I gave her a big smile, said thank you and went on to explain that as this is my third pregnancy I feel I have become an expert in ‘dressing the bump’.

I am 100% a t-shirt and jeans girl. I may throw in some quirkiness and/or formality from time to time but hands down, my go-to and most favourite piece of clothing is the good old t-shirt. Which means I am so very happy that t-shirts are becoming statement pieces and totally acceptable evening wear too. Inspiration on how to style your favourite tees this summer.
I know many women complain about the lack of maternity shops on the island – I was one of them. But this time around I’ve come to see that it isn’t really a problem because in all honesty is there an actual need for maternity clothes? Dressing a pregnant body can be a challenge but there are so many ways to make it work with regular clothes. Stick to your style and the pieces you like, just buy them one or two sizes bigger and make sure they’re comfortable yet flattering. And whatever you do don’t worry about the weight gain. Flaunt that bump and be proud of it!
If it weren’t for a family emergency last weekend, Georgie and I would be at the beach. So what am I doing talking about coats? Well, I think I’ve finally had enough of summer; I even bought my first new winter item yesterday so I’m eager to start changing things up in the wardrobe department. One thing I always depend on when the weather gets cooler is a statement coat. It could be equipped with thick materials for those cold winter days or it could be light as a feather and the perfect in-between-seasons piece. Here’s what is on my inspiration board.
