run wild and free

I am so glad I grabbed my camera on our way out to my sister’s for lunch. A beaming sun was all these kiddies needed to run free, make up stories (apparently,a shark was after us) and just be kids for a while. In the meantime, I got to capture all of this. Today was one of those good days. x

Liked – sneakers

Since I started taking regular Pilates classes and threw a core workout into the mix once a week, those wobbly parts on my body are getting smaller. Fitting into clothes I like and pulling outfits together that make me feel good is a great feeling that brings on all sorts of excitements, especially for someone who put an uncomfortable amount of weight during her pregnancy (still not comfortable with sharing the actual number with the whole world). But no matter how many inches I lose, one thing is absolute: for me, comfort always comes first; casual, second. That trainers and sneakers are making their way into everyday outfits that are stylish, approachable and above all comfortable, is total inspiration for this happy mummy.

Odd ends

Argh! It’s been one of those weeks where all I can give you is an odd ends post. It sort of means that while I feel not much happened this week that is blog-worthy, I did use my camera to capture a few things I want to remember and that makes me happy. Now allow me to go wash my hair and prepare for a boisterous weekend with lots of foods and lots of relatives- note: if you know Cypriots, you know I mean ALOT in both cases. Oh and there’s a DIY project brewing around here. Have a good one! x

boy in the kitchen!

A month ago, while we were decorating our Christmas tree, Georgie asked for pancakes for dinner. So, I dropped what I was doing and headed to the kitchen with him to whip up a batch. Georgie stood on his little stool and waited for me to gather all the ingredients. He then helped me scoop out the exact measurements with that cute toddler steadiness and then he cracked open two eggs with one hand. We began mixing away when my mother-in-law began laughing. She couldn’t believe how well Georgie was handling himself and the whole process. He is indeed a great sous chef and I could not be prouder. I smile when he starts cleaning and cups his hand under the kitchen counter to catch those crumbs.

A resolution of sorts

Every night, before I nod off, I like to plan the next day in my head. I schedule appointments and chores if they are on the itinerary and then I concentrate on Georgie and activities we could do together. It only takes a few minutes and somehow it makes falling asleep much easier.

And then the New Year flies in and sleep doesn’t come easy. I find myself staring into space, willing my head and heart to come up with a bigger and broader plan. Yes, I’m talking about a resolution of sorts. Last year I promised to change some things I felt were holding me back and I am so glad I did. I NEED the same this year.  There’s so much I want to do, to achieve and to accomplish, my mind spins with excitement one minute but the next I am glued to the telly watching TV shows and chomping on popcorn. I think this slumped upset has to do with the fact that this year signifies a massive inevitable change in my life: Georgie will start pre-school in September. I feel THAT will be the time for resolutions. For now, I’ll stick to some basics, things I have been dreaming of for a while now. Listing them here on the blog, will hopefully make them more real, generate some excitement and bring clarity to my confused mind.
