On Friday afternoon my mum and I were taking our usual post-lunch walk through Ikea in search for an 8 euro clothes rail. Georgie, as usual again, was standing in the shopping cart watching the world go by. Five minutes later i heard a thump- a noise I will NEVER forget. A noise so disturbing every time I think of it I feel sick. He had fallen on his head and in a matter of seconds his eye was swollen shut.

I’ve been feeling a tad underproductive these past few weeks. Always meaning to blog, always meaning to take Georgie on a long drive somewhere nice, always meaning to do this, that and the other. Instead I choose to play the role of couch potato. I’m hoping this phase will be over. Soon. I hate going to bed telling myself that it will all get done tomorrow…
…off to enjoy a relaxing evening watching Friends with Kids. Jon Hamm’s in it. xxx
Georgie is a lucky boy. I am a firm believer in luck and know my child is blessed with so much goodness in his life, I can’t help but be grateful. He has a family who loves him. One that would die for him. I read and hear about children being abandoned or neglected everyday all around the world and realize that anything beyond love and health is simply embellishment in the life of a child. Don’t get me wrong. I know how important a new toy is but isn’t a walk to the park just as special to a two-year old? Georgie is lucky he has a papa who works so very hard to give him everything including a mummy who can be with him everyday. I hope he will grow up to appreciate the little things as well as the more expensive.
-climb everything and anything! Benches, tables, chairs, washing machines, dogs, people.
– shout and hit you whenever you pull them away from something like a staircase.
– insist on emptying the shampoo bottle on the floor.
-insist on emptying EVERYTHING on the floor.
– find it absolutely hilarious when there’s yoghurt and rice all over them. And the dog …who is lurking around the highchair relishing said yoghurt and rice bombings.
