so apart from me injuring my child perhaps the weirdest news of all is the weather! Remember I was telling you how hot it was? Well this was the view from our window last night. It rained most of the day too but it’s still warm. And here i was about to put away my Uggs and bring out the Havaianas. In other news, Evo’s doing well…and my sister turned 29 on Monday. As with every celebration in Cyprus, the barbecue was prepared and meat was on the menu. Below is papa getting the chicken with yoghurt ready. Yummy.

there’s a reason I’ve been away from the computer. i’ve been a bad mummy. on monday, just as I was rushing around to get Georgie ready for my sister’s birthday party I caught his fingers in the corner of the door. Ouch! I know! I still can’t think about it without feeling sick. Thankfully it wasn’t serious- apparently even if he had broken a bone, there’s nothing you can do about it. He screamed for half an hour, I cried more and then he was fine! Such a brave little boy. I’ll be posting a few pictures from Emilia’s party later on today.xxx
It was soooo hot today! But it’s not so bad when you have a child. They love going to the beach and you don’t mind being at the beach. Come to think of it things probably aren’t that relaxed when there’s sand, water and an excited toddler running about.Water stresses me out. Even giving Georgie a bath can worry me – i won’t take my eyes off him even for a second! And i mean that!- so what is the beach experience going to be like? Hopefully I’ll live through it without giving myself a heart attack. Today even though we were sea side we didn’t actually go very close to the sea. None of us were beach-ready so Georgie had to make do with a puddle.Over this past week Georgie has become more familiar with the term Hold My Hand. It was a struggle especially since he’s such a little adventurer. But then something magical happened and I happen to think it’s one of the cutest things ever!Guess what Georgie did shortly after? i was sooooo jealous! Our final chapter of the day included eating a big bowl of cereal while bursting water bubbles with daddy. It’s amazing how something so simple can keep kids occupied for ages!
It’s amazing how a child can go from this……to this……to this!
I promised myself i wouldn’t give in to all that baby talk and ridiculous words some people come up with when talking to kids – especially here in Cyprus- but when we’re on the subject of food none other than yummy sounds appropriate.
Anyway, Georgie doesn’t like long meals. Like most kids his age he thrives on snacks. I remember losing my patience when he wouldn’t sit down to eat his lunch after three to four hours of having breakfast. Just let him be, my pediatrician said. Offer it to him later and he’ll probably eat it. Oh my how she was right. So basically what we do now is offer him something to eat every two hours. it could be a biscuit or spaghetti bolognese. Whatever it is he’ll usually eat it if he isn’t pressured and i’m not about to lose my mind.
