The Legion Run. At first, I didn’t plan to write a post about our day in the fields with muddy people running everywhere but then I realised it was kind of a big deal. Legion Run kicked off, this weekend in Cyprus, a European tour to eight cities in seven countries. The 5 km race with obstacles and the sole purpose of finishing with an intact team welcomes everybody to participate. The obstacles are great as you can see but the idea is anyone can get through them with a little help from their team. I guess this appealed to many because 3,500 people took part, making me want to kick myself for not!Despite the strong winds, the very long, dirt, stoney and dusty road I took pushing a buggy all the way upwards (phew!), it was definitely a sight worth seeing.

My other babies.
She has no idea how big she is. Or how annoying she is. Lily Rose will jump on you while you’ve got a cup of hot tea in your hand, get her head stuck in between the gate bars and chew through two doormats in ONE WEEK! She’s protective and loyal, kind and playful.
We call him The Brain- as in Pinky and The Brain?- It’s not even funny how much alike they are. Tano has a temper and will lash out if he’s not in the mood, so we manage him with care and lots of sweet talk. The poor bastard was taken from his mother too soon, I think and so he developed a little aggressive streak. He’s always on his toes and ready to announce himself with excessive barking whenever he sees or hears something. Those of you who have heard how Tano screams when he sees a cat, will know what I’m talking about.
Georgie woke up unusually early this morning. ‘Mummy, I want carrot cake!’ he shouted every five minutes until I got up. It looked like our morning was going to be slow albeit beautiful and spring-scented. The light put me in the mood for photos, cooking and baking. I prepared a batch of bread dough, pulled together a nutella braided bread, made oven baked peas, sweet potato and carrot in tomato sauce for dinner and these mini vegetable pot pies for lunch. This was the first time I tried this recipe and although Georgie and I gulped down two each, I would make it less time-consuming next time. Just add instant gravy to boiled vegetables. Any vegetable will do and an extra topping of mashed potatoes was nice.
1. My favourite carrot cake recipe.
2. He likes any app that involves dragging and fitting puzzle pieces.
3. Morning light in black and white.
4. Our home all dressed up just before Georgie’s birthday bash.
5. ‘Throw me really high, papa!’
6. Eating chocolate and skyping with his godfather.
I’ve been meaning to attempt more bread recipes but I’m afraid my options are limited. Currently, I am stuck on dry active yeast based recipes but I do plan to start my sourdough ‘feeding’ that will able me to go for more bread baking options. The moment I saw the words ‘rosemary’ and ‘garlic’, I was sold. I love garlic bread, so I gave this recipe a go without hesitation. It’s an easy bread recipe albeit an impatient one. Start in the morning if you plan to have some for dinner because there’s a five hour wait with a step in between before you pop it in the oven. Some fuss, yes but worth it. I messed up the first loaf I put in the oven and wasn’t very happy with the result but the second one was heaven. Dipped in olive oil with a plate of tomato sauce spaghetti? Truly yummy. As you can see, this one flattened after I tried to cut it, mainly because I baked it with the grill on! Let’s hope I remember to not switch the grill on when I bake this again.
