As I’ve mentioned before here on the blog, my figure ballooned when I was pregnant with Georgie. My weight and the excess of it just got out of hand and even though I tried my best, I only managed to exercise for the first six months. Not that the type of exercise I enjoy is the type that burns calories because it doesn’t really. It burns off inches though and I appreciate that too. Stott Pilates is something I started doing in 2009. I took a year off after Georgie was born and as soon as I was able to leave him with my parents for an hour twice a week, I went straight back. I love what Stott Pilates does to my body, the strength I have gained and the fact that it has done wonders for my posture.I took my camera with me to class this morning and our instructor took a few shots of our little morning group doing the circuit. As you can see there’s more to Pilates and Stott Pilates than just lying on the floor, breathing. We do that too but we like to mix it up. You can read about the difference between Pilates and Stott Pilates here.

From the moment we moved into our new home, I’ve been trying to think of the perfect space for a blackboard wall. Papa and I prepped and painted a board when we moved in, which we use as a monthly calendar – you can see it here– but I wanted more. So I purchased a few cans of paint and ran wild in the guest toilet, of all places. This was the only room we didn’t paint before moving in because thoughts of wallpaper were swirling in my mind. Painting such a high ceiling room was torture at times, definitely harder than I imagined but I am so happy with the result. This is so much more fun than wallpaper. Our house guests certainly think so. We’ve had r-rated graphics and football team slogans scrawled across the walls as well as little poems and cute sketches. It’s weird looking at what a blackboard can bring out in people.
This weekend, my baby boy turned three. We celebrated with a big bash and a dress up theme to go with. It was such a fun day with people turning up decked in their fancy costumes, faces painted, making me laugh so hard all day long with their antics. Honestly, I had the best time, so a big thank you to everyone who came. Despite the massive stress overload that comes with planning a big birthday party that included Barney showing up and making my baby’s face beam so brightly at the sight of the big pink dinosaur, it was all worth it. Excuse the overload of photos that is to follow but I need to post a few pictures of these awesome people. This will definitely be a day I will remember and smile. Happy third birthday, my sweet boy. x
This last photo breaks my heart because it reminds me how much my little boy suffered through the horrific flu epidemic that is flooring us here in Cyprus. You can see it on his face. Utter misery. I am however very happy to report that we have slowly but steadily made our way out of the fevers and vomit and preparing for Georgie’s third birthday party this weekend! Carnival celebrations are also in full swing here in Cyprus so our little party is going to be a dress up one!!! I am so excited for my little boy. A joyful celebration is exactly what we need to get the engines running.
1. Phone conversation with papa.
2. I, yes I, painted the guest toilet walls black. Blackboard black! Finishing touches will be taking place this week- hopefully.
3. Just so he can see where he’s going, a mini haircut. I made papa swear before they left for the hairdresser’s.
4. Perdika. I snuck up on this little birdie only to notice this little ring around its leg. It’s raised to be shot.
