cookies and my love

My little dude had a rocking weekend riding the carousel and sleeping for 12 hours straight- don’t hate me. I’ve probably just jinxed myself anyway. Feeling slightly more chilled and positive, it’s no wonder I woke up this morning and made peanut butter cookies for breakfast. Which subsequently meant that a boring old Monday wasn’t so bad. Hope yours was a good one. x

changes

I will forever remember our pediatrician telling us that Georgie was special. I know. She probably says that to everyone but I really do believe her every time she tells us he is progressing and developing at a speedy rate. He’s always been a busy bee. Full of life and energy. That curiosity he had, demonstrating it at only days old when he would lift his head off my shoulder- i am not exaggerating-, he still possesses. It’s inspiring and amazing to watch.

breaking the routine

When papa called on Friday afternoon to tell me we were spending the weekend by the beach, I swear i did a little dance. Georgie was off to his grandmother’s for the night so that gave me plenty of time to pack for me and a busy 16-month old. I change him on average twice a day and that’s not including his pajamas. So the point was not to not overdo it with the packing…but then again, we’ll be at the beach, I thought to myself, which means he’ll be needing at least two shirts for each day… Next, snacks! And nappies for the water! Anyway, I like to think I didn’t take that much for one night.

messy sundays

It was soooo hot today! But it’s not so bad when you have a child. They love going to the beach and you don’t mind being at the beach. Come to think of it things probably aren’t that relaxed when there’s sand, water and an excited toddler running about.Water stresses me out. Even giving Georgie a bath can worry me – i won’t take my eyes off him even for a second! And i mean that!- so what is the beach experience going to be like? Hopefully I’ll live through it without giving myself a heart attack. Today even though we were sea side we didn’t actually go very close to the sea. None of us were beach-ready so Georgie had to make do with a puddle.Over this past week Georgie has become more familiar with the term Hold My Hand. It was a struggle especially since he’s such a little adventurer. But then something magical happened and I happen to think it’s one of the cutest things ever!Guess what Georgie did shortly after? i was sooooo jealous! Our final chapter of the day included eating a big bowl of cereal while bursting water bubbles with daddy. It’s amazing how something so simple can keep kids occupied for ages!

odd ends

Yesterday was Georgie’s name day. Name days are a HUGE deal in Cyprus. People celebrate the day more than they do their birthdays. My in laws are people. So it was only natural that Georgie would have a big day and night ahead of him. He had a nap during the afternoon but it was nowhere near enough for him to last until 8. I stressed just about enough to forget my camera -so sorry but no pics. He ended up lasting until 9 when he started running around in circles, sulking and throwing his hands in the air in protest. I grabbed a tupperware my mother in law prepared for me and took him home. He was in bed by 9.30 but didn’t sleep his usual 12 hours. He slept 10 which isn’t bad I know. But how true is it that the earlier you put them to bed the more hours they’ll sleep.
