On any given day I’ll reach for an all-black outfit or a minimalist one at the very least. It’s easy to pull together especially when you’re rushing out the door with two kids in tow. But then there are days when I’m feeling a tad creative and I have patterns and stripes on my mind. And I want to wear them all at the same time. Here’s what’s inspiring me.
If there’s one thing I know for a fact it’s that this summer I’ll be needing a bigger beach bag. That’s what happens when you have two kids, right? You need bigger bags.
1. The Bee and The Fox: These t-shirts were what inspired this post to begin with. I love the typography, the contrast ringer binding at the neckline and sleeves and they also look super comfy. Shop on Etsy.
2. Female Collective: Feminism is celebrated in all its glory over at Female Collective where the t-shirts look a tad plain but nevertheless I love all the statements they boldly make.
There were times when I would brace myself whenever I walked past a shop. Sometimes I would literally hold my breath and hurry by. Sales season. Those big red letters and signs can spell trouble if you’re not careful and I’ve been known to not be careful. At all. And of course instead of feeling great about where I’ve spent my money I end up hating myself and regretting every single purchase.
I know many women complain about the lack of maternity shops on the island – I was one of them. But this time around I’ve come to see that it isn’t really a problem because in all honesty is there an actual need for maternity clothes? Dressing a pregnant body can be a challenge but there are so many ways to make it work with regular clothes. Stick to your style and the pieces you like, just buy them one or two sizes bigger and make sure they’re comfortable yet flattering. And whatever you do don’t worry about the weight gain. Flaunt that bump and be proud of it!
