…Georgie and I chilled. We had strawberries and weetabix for breakfast……went to the mall for a milkshake and some book browsing… (ended up buying wrapping paper and a DVD)……took a quick trip to the park for some ice cream……and we then ended the day getting dirty, feeding Tano and using our new chalk on the veranda wall. I picked up this natural and above all washable chalk from Tigadoo, one of the only-if not the only- eco-friendly kids’ stores in Nicosia. Such a great variety of wooden toys, clothes and hygiene products. Love that place!Moments like these make me wish I could feckin draw! But I can’t so poor Georgie will have to do with a orange-lemon tree. Hope you have a lovely weekend!xxx

Now that summer is approaching fast, fruits are on the menu for my baby boy. He was only a few months old last year and just about getting started with solids so we didn’t get a chance to experiment a lot. I finally found some organic strawberries to mix with some frozen cranberries -you can’t get them in any other form in Cyprus, unfortunately- some banana and a bit of milk and made ice lollies. I only just made them so I’ll let you know if he likes them tomorrow.on another note, how do you like Georgie’s new Converse All Star trainers. I am obsessed with All Star trainers and knew they would definitely be my baby’s first shoes, even before he was born. These are ultra cool and looked fabulous with his black leggings.
Yesterday was Georgie’s name day. Name days are a HUGE deal in Cyprus. People celebrate the day more than they do their birthdays. My in laws are people. So it was only natural that Georgie would have a big day and night ahead of him. He had a nap during the afternoon but it was nowhere near enough for him to last until 8. I stressed just about enough to forget my camera -so sorry but no pics. He ended up lasting until 9 when he started running around in circles, sulking and throwing his hands in the air in protest. I grabbed a tupperware my mother in law prepared for me and took him home. He was in bed by 9.30 but didn’t sleep his usual 12 hours. He slept 10 which isn’t bad I know. But how true is it that the earlier you put them to bed the more hours they’ll sleep.
After watching Jamie Oliver’s 30 minute meals show i decided i should cook more! The truth is I really enjoy cooking especially if it’s something that requires lots of different spices, fresh organic produce and some good wine but I make excuses more often than I tend to admit. I remind myself how much satisfaction I get from serving a dish with pipping hot homemade food and this past few week I’ve managed to cook three times in a row! Yesterday I cheated and made a pasta dish but it was baked and with tuna! oh! but the best part? the heart-shaped pasta!
