When I was about ten, one of my favorite role-playing games was shop keeper. My sister and friends would hang all our mother’s clothes around a bedroom, pull a desk out and start counting pretend money and trying on fancy dresses. I loved making price tags. And guess what? I still do! 
I will be attending and participating (!) in the Ledenes Street Market in old Nicosia on October 6. A very good friend of mine is organizing this exciting event which is happening for the second time. You may remember the pictures I took last May of gorgeous vintage and second hand finds. I loved the atmosphere which was like one big party but including happy and guilt-free shopping so I jumped at the opportunity to clean out my closet and have some fun. X and I are enjoying the preparation and planning. We cut up some old wrapping paper for the price tags and using my trusty old Ikea cardboard boxes for a tidy presentation.
Clothes, accessories and shoes will be in our corner but you are sure to find homemade goods and quirky trinkets throughout the market. Oh do stop by if you are in town. Wouldn’t it be great to see more and more of these little markets popping up around? Show your support!
Note: Ledenes Street is behind that monstrosity they built in old Nicosia called Stoa and the market will be open from 14:00 til 19:00. See you there! xxx
