I have finally made some headway with a mini living room makeover I am planning this month. I am very excited about a certain floor lamp and a new rug and finally FINALLY another gallery wall. Most of the frames in this house are mainly on the floor leaning against a wall somewhere and it’s gotten to the point where I can’t stand it anymore. So I’m planning a gallery wall that will include local goodies from small local businesses like Artilicious with their gorgeous box frame creations.
When Alex, mum of three, contacted me about making a custom frame for our family I wandered over to her Instagram feed and found a crafty collection of unique keepsakes in box frames and more. My eye caught Lego superheroes and scrabble tiles and I was glued! I loved the random things in the box frames: cute buttons, paper crafts, quotes, wooden initials. Alex has taken her love for all things arts and crafts and turned it into a business. Artilicious is the type of space where you can have memories framed to keep for a lifetime in unique creative ways.
Soon after Alex and I exchanged a few messages I decided I definitely wanted three Lego superheroes in my box frame that each represent my boys. Georgie is Superman, gentle and strong. James is Batman. Obviously. And my baby Danny is Spiderman because that little one has the strongest grip. I also loved the idea of the scrabble tile initials so I asked Alex to place them under each superhero representative.
Alex sent me a picture of the box frame design before she finalised it to ensure that is what I had in mind. She does this with all her orders so her customers get a chance to approve the final design. She’s also planning on working with charities which is always cool.
When the frame arrived a few days later bubble-wrapped in brown paper, it looked even better in real life. I’ve placed it on a black wall for now but I can’t wait to hang it soon amongst other favourite paintings, posters and pictures.
You can find Artilicious on Facebook and Instagram. Included on both pages are the price lists for various sized box frames and other details. You can also e-mail Artilicious at artilicipuscy@hotmail.com
