Jacinthe, the local natural premium skincare range you HAVE to try

Over the last five years, I have developed a promising daily skincare routine. I know that probably sounds like I spend an hour rubbing various products on my face but the truth is I don’t like to complicate things, mainly because I have very little knowledge on the matter. I have found a basic formula that works for me, a few products that I rotate every now and then, I’ve got into the mode of actually dedicating time to do it and bam! Skincare routine is now a lovely new healthy habit. And one that became a thousand times better and more enjoyable when I started using the Jacinthe natural skincare range.

I’m saying this right off the bat: This skincare range is phenomenal. I will try to convey in this article just how blown away I am by the effectiveness and awesomeness of this brand. I hope I can.

First up and most importantly, these products are locally made! They are actually formulated by the founder, Andry, who has five certifications so far in aromatherapy and skincare formulation. When she was describing her products to me, I was fascinated by her knowledge of not only skincare products in general, but of each and every ingredient she uses. They are the finest and most luxurious and they include ingredients such as: whole plant cells from Papyrus, extract of organic Edelweiss, which they source from a Swiss farm that cultivates it in the Alps at an altitude of 3000 meters, saffron and scutellaria, vanilla fruit, cardamom and Sangre de Drago. The list goes on and does not cease to amaze me.

I’ve been sharing my experience with the Jacinthe products on my social media accounts since I began testing them over a month ago. And the one question I have received over and over again is: which product is my favourite? Which would I recommend? That’s not an easy question to answer because I genuinely think that every single product I have tried is, without a doubt, astonishingly good.

However one of the products I use, religiously, as in every single day, is the Camellia Kissi Deep Pore Cleanser, which funnily enough Andry wanted me to try before she launched it on the website because she wasn’t sure. Erm, not sure about what? Blown away! Completely blown away by this formula. My man recently noticed a shift in my skin texture, so one evening I told him to watch me while I washed and dried my face after using the oil. Now, I know that there are many products out there that offer an instant boost and a certain glow but the effect is rarely long-lived. Absolutely not the case with this product. It cleanses deeply and thoroughly and turns into a milky liquid once water is applied. And then it’s silky smooth skies all the way. And as far as removing makeup and dirt buildup, it passed the micellar water test -which I have been using everyday for the past five years- when I wiped my face with a clean pad and found no residue. Job done.

Andry also gave me a bottle of the Demeter’s Foam Soap, which I sometimes use after the deep pore cleanser, sort of like double cleansing. I also use it to freshen up my face and tighten my pores which happens with the help of Yucca extract. I have had bad skin experiences in the past with products based on soap, from feeling my skin way too tight and taunt to various ingredients irritating my face. So I was happy to discover that though it says Foam Soap on the bottle, this is actually a product that contains no soap but natural ingredients that bind sebum (facial oil) and dirt and remove it from the epidermis. It also contains 7 distillates that Jacinthe make themselves (!) from wild-crafted plants that they grow.

Next up would have to be Demeter’s Urban Shield, a miraculous formula of goodies that I love to use over my makeup and/or as the last product in my evening skincare routine. It’s won a global award and rightly so. Here’s what you can definitely expect this product to deliver on: smooth skin texture, provide astringent qualities, fresh-looking skin all day, protection environmental stressors and pollution with the help of prebiotics, keep bad bacteria at bay in the case of acne-prone and oily skin, regenerate skin and lighten dark spots. I need almost everything mentioned here, I have dark spots and oily skin and know my skin can feel severely stressed out at times. A lot of these ‘conditions’ have dramatically improved since I started using the Urban Shield spray. There are raving reviews, naturally, on this product and they are all absolutely right. The mixture of ginger, Aloe Vera and edelweiss and other ingredients make this the ultimate way to relieve your skin from urban stress and skin irritation and offer protection from environmental pollution.

Jacinthe’s Wrinkle Resist Eye Balm, with a fruity and earthy aroma, is an absolute joy to use. It’s a balm that is very concentrated, loaded with skin nourishing and deeply moisturising ingredients that have the ability to brighten dull and dark skin under the eyes and also encourage hair growth if you use it on your eyebrows.

The organic lip balm is another favourite, not only due to its effectiveness of maintaining lips plump and moisturised for hours, but also because of its big base that I just love. Amongst many ingredients, most of them oils and butters, Jacinthe uses organic peppermint and and sweet orange essential oils that enhance the natural shape of your lips.

Last but not least, Demeter’s Soothing Face Cream is hailed as Jacinthe’s hero product and I get it! I totally get it! Hands down, one of the best skin products I have tried EVER, I just can’t get enough of the immediate glow it offers and most importantly, its ability to actually fade acne scars and soothe my sensitive skin. I have been using it every day for over two weeks now and I can definitely see a shift in my skin texture. It kind of looks more plump and smooth and dewy. Specifically designed for over 40s skin – I’ll be 40 this year- it contains so many impressive active and rejuvenating ingredients that nourish and moisturise but mainly, it does a brilliant job of regulating oil production. I use it everyday under my SPF cream and even in place of foundation a couple of times as the finishing result is often just as good.

Honestly and truthfully, never in a million years did I think this collaboration with Jacinthe would cause such a positive shift in my life. Skin confidence is a real thing, people. But I have to factor into that positive shift the fact that I love that these are locally made and produced, I love that I get to support a small women-led company I believe in and I love knowing there are subtle changes I can make that will make the world of difference to me.
