Having at least one room in your home that is a sanctuary, a place you can go for some well-earned peace and quiet and that feels wondering when you do, is vital. Without this one special room, you will never feel truly comfortable in your own home, and you will never be able to ultimately relax and pay attention to your own self-care. Even in a room that you feel is comfortable, if it’s not entirely right, your subconscious won’t be able to rest, and you’ll still be tense and tired.
I like looking at pictures of other people’s homes. I’m not too keen on catalogue looks but I do like a space with character and a good dose of mix and match. I like thinking about the type of person who lives there, the story behind an object but most of all I like the good old plain inspiration I get from the colours, the materials, the ideas and the practicality of a space. It’s just something I like to do.
Yesterday, Sunday, was a busy day for us and our new home. Georgie’s name day is tomorrow so it was the perfect excuse to invite friends and family over for a feast! The little get-together was also a good excuse for me to ‘fix up’ a couple of rooms and finally frame some posters. The Ali and Inglorious Basterds posters are Mike’s productions. Thanks mate!
