Georgie was assigned to keep a diary as part of a school project. Even though he already has one, he needed some motivation to journal every day. So I told him that I have always kept a diary, from a very young age and that I still have many of those diaries. So a little plastic container was pulled down from the highest shelf and opened. The first thing we saw was my baby book. Which is now considered a proper vintage item.
No I haven’t started running. I wish. It’s that one thing I wish I would do. There are so many benefits to it both for mind and body. I am hoping to inject some cardio into my little workout life that only includes pilates classes twice a week and tending to three kids on a daily basis. Birth Forward‘s upcoming participation in the Limassol Marathon 5km Corporate Race may just be the kick I need to finally do it.
It’s easy for me to get caught in a web of negativity especially when everything that can go wrong will go wrong. Recently our fridge broke down, silently in the middle of the night, defrosting everything in the freezer and slowly working it’s way through the fridge section too. Then our dog got sick. And then there was other stuff. There always is. But because I have recently decided to work on my mind as well as my body, I knew that a gratitude list could have a massive impact on my overall wellbeing. So I gave it a go.
I’ve written about receiving gifts upon the arrival of a new family member. And how many people get it wrong, wasting money and annoying us. You voiced your opinions too, which I turned into a blog post. One thing we all agreed on was that balloons and flowers were out and food, self-care and baby products were in. Those were the things I appreciated after having all three of my babies. The needs are the same as they are more or less throughout the early years of parenting.
