in the kitchen—Goji berry snack mix

I want to share this new obsession of mine, an unbelievable easy recipe for healthy snacking that Georgie loves. All you do is blend a handful of goji berries and pumpkin seeds and then mix with a heaped tablespoon of heated coconut oil. Roll the mixture into little balls and place in the fridge. This is one of many super healthy recipes I have discovered in a book called Medicinal Cookery.

Two

I looked at the clock tonight at precisely the time Georgie was born two years ago. And then I looked at my sweet little boy playing with his wind-up toy car on the floor. Yep. Time flies. But honestly, I didn’t dwell on that side of it too much. Oddly enough, I only got teary once today and I was thrilled to throw him a little party and finally get him that Ikea mini kitchen he loves so much. He makes me tea and then he makes me laugh.

what Georgie wore

This post was supposed to be about my love for thrift shops and second-hand goods but today was the type of day that leaves me with enough energy to make homemade bolognese and watch a movie. Why? Well, our morning started off with Georgie spilling ground cinnamon EVERYWHERE. I was making scrambled eggs at the time, which he refused to eat. I then had to rush out and hunt for a table for our new home because a certain well-known furniture store could not give us a delivery date for the table we wanted and gave a deposit on SIX MONTHS ago! Don’t even get me started on manners and customer service. Last but not least, Georgie did not nap today. Mums will know what this means. After an hour of lying in bed with him, he promptly got up, shook his head as if to say ‘no’ and then began jumping up and down.

what Georgie wore

This mask was one of two presents I gave Georgie after returning from London. The first, a vintage Fisher Price wind-up TV, is sitting safely on a shelf. The second, this lion mask I picked up from a One Pound Shop outside of London, is hands-down one of his favourite things to play with. He happily posed in it for a few seconds before I had to promptly put down the camera and pretend to be a lion. As you do.
