Covid-19. Climate change. Furloughed employees. Change of work routine. Increased costs of living. The list of things that cause stress in 2021 has gone a lot longer compared to the previous years. If you’ve been self-isolated at home, chances are that you find it hard to find a find peace. We’ve got a lot of our minds. And when you’re staying at home, surrounded by kids who need your attention and your coworkers who are planning Zoom meetings all day long, mental space becomes a rarity. Reclaiming your mental space can be tough. But when things feel overwhelmingly stressful, you need to find a way to clear out the cloudy thoughts.

Every night I wipe my face clean with some micellar water and cotton pads. And every night I throw those cotton pads in the bin, I feel a pang of guilt. Same thing happens whenever I have a period and I throw away pad after pad. The guilt is intense because I’m harming the planet one bloody pad at a time not to mention my bank account. It’s really that simple. So when I got an email from Eco Fluff, a female-led local and small company with the sole purpose of introducing and encouraging women towards sustainable personal and baby products, I jumped at the chance to work with them. I’ve been testing and trying out some of their bestsellers and here’s my honest opinion.
Being a busy mum and parent can be rewarding, but it can also be quite stressful. There are errands to run, kids to attend to, and a job that requires your attention. All of your to-dos may start to overwhelm you if you don’t take a step back every so often and rest.
So here we are, smack bang in the middle of a pandemic and many of us on lockdown. There’s fear and panic in the air and uncertainty that has us all freaked out. Schools have closed as I’m sure everything else will too at some point in the very near future. And so, many of us have found ourselves at home with the kids more than we’re used to, some of us are homeschooling, others are trying to work from home and all of us just want to make it until bedtime. With the help of my readers and social media I’ve put together a quick post on how to keep the kids busy so you can get some shit done, reminders to take care of ourselves and things to do as a family.
Hello. And a happy new year to all!
